Coach Biographies:
Coach Harrell is a 2001 graduate of Oconee County High School, located in Watkinsville, Georgia. He received a soccer scholarship to Mars Hill College in Asheville, NC. After two years at Mars Hill, he transferred and attended the University of Georgia. He graduated in the Spring of 2007 with a BS in Mathematics Education. He has since received a Master's from Troy University, and a Specialist Degree from Piedmont College. Coach Harrell's was a coach for the Apalachee Boys program for six years. He spent four years as the JV head coach. He was a Varsity assistant for all six years. He has previous coaching experience at the High School and Club levels. Coach Harrell previously coached at Oconee County High School holding the same positions as Head JV and Varsity Assistant coach. As far as club, he has coached at both the Athens YMCA and Athens United. While at the Athens YMCA, he coached U-11 and U-12 boys. After making the move to Athens United, he coached U-13 and U-17 boys. This is his first year as the NOHS Boys Head Soccer Coach. Coach Harrell is also an Assistant Coach for the Softball team. He has a beautiful wife, Tracy, as well as two dogs, Dixie and Delta.
Coach Ventura has over 12 years coaching experience. He currently holds a USSF National “D” coaches license and is pursuing his USSF National "C" license. He was the former Athens Academy Middle School Coach, JV Coach, and Assistant Varsity Coach. This will be his fourth season coaching at North Oconee High School. He was the head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach for the past three years. Last year, Coach Ventura led the North Oconee JV boy's soccer team to an undefeated season for the first time ever in school history. Along with coaching at the high school, Coach Ventura is also the Malcom Bridge Middle School Boys Head Soccer Coach. During the fall, he coaches at Oconee Soccer Alliance. He is the Head Coach of the U14 Classic boys team at the club, and has coached all levels from U-9's to U-17's.
Coach Drake is a 2003 graduate of Loganville High School, located in Loganville, Georgia. He attended Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia for two years and transferred to the University of Georgia where he graduated with a degree in Biology in 2007. He is currently working on his Master’s of Arts in Teaching in the field of Science Education at Piedmont College. Coach Drake was the assistant coach at Oconee County Middle School for the boys soccer team and girls softball team from 2011-2012. He also was the assistant coach for the Varsity boys soccer team at North Oconee High School in 2012. This is Coach Drake’s first year as the NOHS JV Head Coach.
